Future Wolves Compete in Summer Nationals

Carrollton, Ga -- Many recently graduated young high school students across the United States are sitting back and enjoying their final summer before college. Not so for a pair of UWG signees, as Emily Reul and Reagin Boggs will be spending theirs on a national volleyball stage before reporting to West Georgia in the fall.

"We are excited that both of these girls are getting this opportunity this summer," said UWG head coach Gary Lee

Reul is a member of the Rancho Valley Volleyball Club in San Bernardino, CA, a team that recently qualified for the USAV Junior National Championships by winning a bid through the Far Western Open in Reno, NV.

The National tournament will take place from June 24-July 3, 2010 in Reno, NV, with the 18-0pen Division tournament taking place from June 29-July 2. Reul's 18-1 team from the RVVC is one of 32 teams that have qualified for the 18-Open tournament. Click here to follow the tournament

Around the same time, Boggs will be hitting the court at the 37th-annual AAU Girls' Junior National Volleyball championships in Orlando, FL. Competing with the A5 Volleyball Club out of Atlanta, Boggs, a Loganville native, will be one of four players from the Walton County area that will be competing on her team.

She will then turn around quickly and report to the same U.S. Junior National Championships in Reno, NV, giving the Wolves two players competing on the same national stage this summer.

Getting to Reno was no small feat for either player, as teams had to go through a meticulous qualifying process, either nationally or regionally in order to receive a bid.

Boggs and Reul will report to Carrollton with the rest of the 2010 UWG volleyball squad in early August to begin preparations with Lee for the upcoming season. The 2010 campaign begins on September 3 in Saint Leo, FL at the Saint Leo University tournament.
